XVD is an entirely new compression technology known for its high quality and high compressibility exceeding MPEG's. XVD can reduce data size to a fraction of a corresponding MPEG-2 file while maintaining its image quality.

  • High-Speed Hardware Processing
The chip embedded in this product is capable of recording video in real time using the compact XVD format. Of course, conversion from an MPEG file to the XDV format can also be processed at high speed.

=Test Environment =(Figures by I-O DATA DEVICE, INC.)
-Conversion of an AVI file with a size of 12.7 GB (60 minutes)
-Computer specifications - CPU: Celeron 1.7 GHz; Memory: 256MB; Hard disk; 40 GB, external disk with USB 2.0 ports.
    -Compression rate - 700 Kbps (video), 32 Kbps (audio); Resolution: 720 x 480 dots
*The above data are only an example. The specific figures will vary depending on the conversion source, setting and environment.
  • From Editing of Video to Writing to a Media
This product comes with BHA's editor software "XVD Editor."
"XVD Editor" is all you need to perform the entire editing process from simple cutting/editing and chapter setting to recording to a CD-R/RW or DVD media.

Go to XVD Special Site "Tape to CD"

  • XVD Encoder Decoder

    * Data cannot be written in the Video-CD or DVD-Video format.

  • Standard Software
I-O DATA XVD Compressor: Convert a group of video files into the XVD format simultaneously
You can easily convert movie/audio files into the XVD format via drag and drop.
Multiple files can be dragged and dropped at once for successive conversions.
File conversion is performed virtually in real time, since it is based on hardware processing that doesn't depend on the CPU.

I-O DATA XVD Recorder: Create an XVD file the moment video is input
The world's first recording technology allows video played on a video device to be recorded in the XVD format in real time.

BHA XVD Editor: From division to chapter setting
See the section [From Editing of Video to Writing to a Media] above.

BHA XVD Player: XVD Player is written to a media automatically for trouble-free distribution
"XVD Editor" also writes a dedicated player "XVD Player" to a media. This resolves the problem of recipients not being able to play the media.

I-O DATA MediaSink: Support XVD as well as MPEG and Window Media Video 9
In addition to managing the created XVD files and still images captured by a digital camera, MediaSink also allows file conversion into various formats. Converting XVD files into the MPEG-1/2/4 or Windows Media Video 9 format is also easy.
